About The Community Development Organisation
Since 2011 the development of community based organisations has been community led. St Helena’s Community Development Organisation was established to provide support to the island’s community groups and continues to do this through the administration of the Community Grant Scheme on behalf of SHG and through liaison with Media, Council and Government including DFID.
Our work has included providing:
Training for organisations and individuals;
Support with constitutions, procedures and policies;
Advocacy;
Other services and support.
As at September 2015 we had Allocated of over £100,000 worth of grant-funding to community groups for all sorts of projects including computers, sports equipment, pianos and art supplies.
The CDO is happy to hear from any community group seeking project funding or assistance with operational issues.
